Description of the medicine: Stephaglabrina sulfate (Stphaglabrini sulfas)
STEFAGLABRIN SULFATE (Stphaglabrini sulfas).
Sulfate of an alkaloid isolated from tubers with stefania roots smooth Stephania glabra (Rob) Miers, fam. Moon seed (Menispermaceae).
Crystalline powder, white with a grayish-pinkish tint. Slightly soluble in water and alcohol.
It has anticholinesterase activity; inhibits true and false cholinesterase.
It is proposed for use in diseases of the peripheral nervous system: myopathy (in adults), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, facial paresis, etc.
Intramuscularly administered in 1 - 2 ml of 0.25% aqueous solution 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 20 to 30 days.
Contraindications are the same as for other anticholinesterase drugs (see Galantamine, Proserinum).
Release form: 0.25% solution in ampoules of 1 ml (2.5 mg per ampoule) in a package of 10 ampoules.
