Description of the medicine: Camphonium (Camphonium)

CAMPHONY (Camphonium).

N- (-Dimethylaminopropyl) -camfidine diiodomethylate.

A similar disulfomethylate is known under the names: Camphidonium, Methocamphonii methylsulfas, Ostensin, Ostensol, Trimethidinium methosulfate.

White with a slightly yellowish tinge crystalline powder. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol.

Refers to bischetvertichnyh ammonium compounds.

Indications for use are the same as for other ganglion blockers in this group.

Assign under the skin, in the muscles and inside, and for controlled hypotension - in the vein.

With obliterating endarteritis, hypertensive disease of the I - II stage, gastric ulcer is prescribed by mouth, starting at a dose of 0.005 g 1-2 times a day; With good tolerance, the dose is gradually increased to 0.01 0.05 - 0.1 g 1 - 2 times a day. Treatment is carried out in courses (2 - 3 weeks).

Parenterally, starting with 0.5 - 1 ml of 1% solution (0.005 - 0.01); With good tolerance, a single dose can be increased to 0.05 g (5 ml of a 1% solution); Injections produce 1 - 2 - 3 times a day.

In hypertensive disease, camphor can be used topically with other antihypertensive drugs.

For controlled hypotension, 0.25-0.5 to 1 ml of a 1% solution is injected into the vein for 1 to 1.5 minutes. For prolonged operations, you can repeat the injection after 1 - 1, 5 hours.

Possible side effects and contraindications are the same as for the entire group of ganglion blocking drugs.

Forms of release: tablets of 0.01 and 0.05 g; 1% solution in 1 ml ampoules.
