Description of the medicine: Dihydroergotaminum (Dihydroergotaminum)

DIGIDROERGOTAMIN (Dihydroergotaminum).

Is issued in the form of methanesulfonate (mesylate).

Synonyms: Ditamin, Clavigrenin, Agit, Angionorm, Clavigrenin, Cornhidral; DH-Ergotamin, Diergotan, Dihydergot, Dihydroergotamine mesilate, Dihytamin, Ditamin, Ergomimet, Ergovasan, Ikaran, Migretil, Migrifen, Tonopress, Vasogin, Verteblan et al.

The main pharmacological property of the drug is a-adrenoblocking activity, which extends to a 1 - and a 2 -adrenoreceptors.

Applied mainly with migraine, with Raynaud's disease and other peripheral circulatory disorders.

It is available for oral administration as a solution containing 0.002 g (2 mg) of dihydroergotamine methanesulfonate in 1 ml, as well as in tablets containing 0.0025 g (2.5 mg) of the preparation and for injections in 1 ml ampoules containing 0.001 g (1 mg) of the preparation.

Take usually inside 10 to 20 drops (in 1/2 cup water) 1 3 times a day. In severe forms of migraine, immediately after the first signs, 1 ml is administered intramuscularly, and if necessary, administered at the same dose repeatedly. For prevention of migraine and headache of vascular genesis, take 1 tablet (2.5 mg) or 20 drops of 0.2% solution (2 mg) 2 to 3 times a day in the morning and in the evening. The optimal dose is selected individually.

When taking the drug inside may be nausea, vomiting, weakness, drowsiness, in rare cases - paresthesia, diarrhea. For parenteral administration and hypersensitivity, the possibility of a collapoid reaction should be considered. After intramuscular injections the patient should be some time in a supine position.

The drug is contraindicated in cases of hypotension, severe atherosclerosis, organic heart lesions, stenocardia, liver and kidney function disorders, in the old age, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Form release: 0.2% solution (2 mg in 1 ml = 20 drops); 0.1% solution (1 mg) in 1 ml ampoules; Tablets of 0.0025 grams (2.5 mg).
