Rhizome (Rhizomata Calami).
Collected in autumn or early spring, freed from the remnants of roots and leaves and stems, dried rhizomes of wild perennial herb calamus ordinary (Acorus calamus L.); Sem. Araceae (Araseae).
They contain a bitter substance akorin, essential oil (not less than 1, 5%), tannins.
Assign as a means to increase appetite and improve digestion.
Take as a tincture (10 g rhizome cut for 200 ml of water) 1/4 cup 3 times a day 30 min before meal.
