Medication Description: Chlorobutanol hydrate (Chlorobutanoli hydras)
CHLOROBUTANOLHYDRAT (Chlorobutanoli hydras): 1, 1, 1-Trichloro-2-methylpropanol-2.
Synonyms: Chloroeton, Acetonchloroform, Anesthosal, Chlorobutanolum, Chlorobutanol, Chlorobutanolum hydratum, Chlorbutolum, Chlortran, Methaform, Sedaform.
Colorless crystals or white crystalline powder with camphor odor. Volatile at room temperature. It is slightly soluble in water (1: 250), very easily - in alcohol.
When ingested, it has a calming and mild narcotic effect, and when applied externally, it has a moderate distracting, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect.
As a sedative, almost never used.
Outwardly sometimes prescribed in the treatment of ulcers, wounds, inflammatory processes in the form of 1 - 2% powder, 5 - 10% ointment, 0.4% solution for lotions.
In the pharmaceutical industry, chlorobutanol hydrate is used for preserving herbal and other drugs (solutions of epinephrine, organ preparations).
Form release: powder.
Storage: List B. In the dark place at a temperature of no higher than +15 C.
It is an integral part of the aerosol preparation "Kameton".

Synonyms: Chloreton-inhalant, Chloreton for inhalations.
Ingredients: chlorobutanol hydrate, camphor, menthol, eucalyptus oil in 1 part, vaseline oil 96 parts.
Transparent colorless oily liquid with the smell of camphor, menthol and eucalyptus oil.
Under the name aerosol "Kameton" (Aerosolum "C "ethonum"), the drug is produced in glass cylinders (30 ml each), covered outside with a protective polymer shell, containing chlorobutanol hydrate for inhalation and propellant (freon-12) equipped with a valve device with a spray nozzle.
Applied with chronic inflammatory diseases of the nose, pharynx and larynx in the acute stage.
For diseases of the pharynx and larynx, an aerosol can is used without a dispensing valve. Remove the protective cap from the nebulizer and, by inserting it into the oral cavity, press on its base and inhale the nebulized drug for 1 to 2 seconds. Inhalation lasts 1 - 2 minutes.
During the day, they are repeated 3-4 times.
In inflammatory diseases of the nose it is more convenient to use a balloon with a metering valve; with one click on the valve, 0.1 g of the drug is sprayed from a cylinder.
The Kameton aerosol should not be given to children under 5 years of age.
Storage: far from fire, at a temperature not higher than +40 'C. The balloon should be protected from impact.
