Description of the medicine: Rhizomes with the roots of cyanosis (Rhizomata cum radicibus Polemonii)
ROOTS WITH ROOTS OF BLUE (Rhizomata cum radicibus Polemonii).
Washed and dried rhizomes collected in early spring or autumn with the roots of cultivated and wild perennial herbaceous plants of cyanosis blue (Polemonium soruleum L.), fam. cyanosis (Role moniacеае). It grows throughout our country. The plant, especially its roots and rhizomes, contains saponins. It has an expectorant and sedative effect.
It is used as an expectorant for acute and chronic bronchitis. It is sometimes prescribed along with swamp bog for gastric ulcer. As an expectorant, take an infusion of the roots (6-8 g per 200 ml), a decoction (3-6 g per 200 ml), 1 tablespoon 3 to 5 times a day (after eating).
In case of gastric ulcer, a decoction is prescribed 1 tablespoon 3 times a day after meals and an infusion of marsh cinnamon (10 g per 200 ml), 3 tablespoons 3 times a day before meals.
They also produce tablets containing dry extracts from the roots of cyanosis and cinnamon grass.
