Rhizomes and roots elecampane (Rhizomata cum radicibus Inulae).

Collected in the autumn and dried rhizomes and roots of many years of wild herb Elecampane (Inulae helenium L.), herewith. Asteraceae (Astraceae).

The plant grows in wet places almost the entire territory of our country. The rhizomes and roots contain saponins, essential oils and other substances.

Used as an expectorant in the form of decoction (20,0: 200,0).

Available also in the form of briquettes. Take the rate of one briquette (10 g) in 1 cup of cold boiled water, put in an enamel bowl, close lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes.

Cool at room temperature, filtered. The remaining raw materials squeeze and bring the water to 200 ml. Take in the form of heat for 1/4 - 1/2 cup 2 - 3 times a day 1 hour before meal.
