Recently, with the purpose of slowing the absorption of quinidine, maintaining a uniform concentration in the blood and tissues, and reducing the side effects, and also the possibility of increasing the intervals between doses, special prolonged forms of quinidine are created.

The most widespread was the foreign drug "Quinidine-fool forest". The domestic preparation "Hinipek" was also developed.

Quinidine-durules (Chinidin-durules) *. It consists of an insoluble porous substrate, in the pores of which there is quinidine bisulfate. One tablet contains 0.25 g of quinidine bisulfate, which corresponds to 0.2 g of quinidine sulfate. Bisulfate is used because it is better soluble in water and more evenly separated from the polymer base.

After taking the drug, its maximum concentration in the blood serum is reached after 3 to 6 hours, then it slowly decreases. To maintain therapeutic concentration, it is sufficient to take tablets 2-3 times a day.

Indications and contraindications are the same as for quinidine.

Before you start taking tablets systematically, it is advisable to test the tolerance by taking 1 tablet of conventional quinidine or quinidine durulose. In the future, appoint 1 to 3 tablets 2 to 3 times a day; The optimal dose is selected individually depending on the effectiveness and tolerability.
