Description of the medicine: Theobiolongum

Theobiolongum.

Tablets of the theophylline of prolonged action containing 0.1 g of theophylline in combination with a bio-soluble polymer used for ophthalmic films (see Ophthalmic films with pilocarpine).

Tablets of white color. The effect of theophylline due to delayed release continues with ingestion for 10 to 12 hours.

Indications and contraindications, precautions are the same as for tablets "Teopek" (see also Theophylline).

Is taken orally after meals (not crushing or dissolving in water), starting at 0.1 g (1 tablet) 2 times a day (morning and evening) at intervals of 12 hours. If the effect and tolerance are insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 0, 2 - 0.3 g per reception. Single dose should not exceed 0.3 g, daily - 0.6 g. Increase in a single dose (more than 0.3 g) is allowed only in rare cases under strict medical supervision.

The mechanism of action is not significantly different from the theopek. Theopack acts somewhat longer. When taking teobiolonga, tachycardia and headaches are more common.

Form release: 0.1 g tablets in a contour polyvinyl chloride film of 10 or 60 pieces in cans of orange glass.

Storage: List B. In a dry, sheltered from the world.

Abroad, various prolonged theophylline preparations are available in the form of tablets or capsules with granules under the names: Teodur, Theotard, Durophyllin Retard, Retaphyll, and others. Theophylline content in tablets and capsules from 0.1 g to 0.5 g.

Indications for use are the same as for tablets "Teopek" and "Theobiolong". Doses are selected individually.
