Description of medicine: Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (Folia Orthosiphoni staminei)
FOUR ORTHOSYPHON LEAVES (Folia Orthosiphoni staminei).
Synonym: Kidney tea.
Orthosiphon stamen (Orthosiphon stamineus Venth.), Fam. cladaceae (Laminaceae). Tropical perennial plant; cultivated in our country.
For medicinal purposes use collected during the growing season and dried leaves and apical shoots, called kidney tea. Contain glycoside orthosiphonin, saponins, essential oil.
They have a moderate diuretic effect. It is sometimes used for edema due to circulatory failure and impaired renal function. Infusion should be prepared daily: 3 - 3, 5 g of leaves are brewed with a glass of boiling water and insisted in a warm place for 3 min. Filter and add boiled water to the original volume.
Take in the form of heat in 1/2 cup for 20 to 30 minutes before meals 2 times a day.
Infusion of orthosiphon leaves is also prescribed for cholecystitis; the favorable effect is apparently associated with a moderate antispasmodic effect. Assign in the same doses after a meal.
Release form: the crushed raw materials on 60 g in cardboard packs.

DS 1/2 cup half an hour before meals 2 times a day (drink warm)
Renal Tea Briquette (Briketum folii Orthosiphoni). Prepared from coarse powder of orthosiphon sheet. A rectangular tile briquette 120 x 65 x 8 mm in size, weighing 60 g, consists of 10 slices of 6 g each. Round briquettes weighing also 6 g.
Pour 1/2 slices or 1/2 round briquette with a glass of boiling water, boil for 5 minutes, insist 4 hours, filter. Take 1/2 cup 2 times a day.
