Description of the medicine: Ritodrin (Ritodrinum)

RITODRINUM. 2- (4-Oxyphenethylamino) -1- (4-hydroxyphenyl) -1-propanol hydrochloride.

Synonyms: Prempar, Pre-Par, Yutopar.

By structure and action is close to fenoterolu (beroteka partusistenu), salbutamol and other b-adrenomimetics.

They are used as a tocolytic agent in case of threat of premature termination of pregnancy.

Inside prescribe for 5 - 10 mg 4 - 6 times a day. Usually, with these doses, uterine contractions stop and the possibility of maintaining pregnancy increases. Duration of the drug 1 - 4 weeks. With the beginning of preterm labor, oral administration is not effective enough and the drug is administered intravenously; For this dilute 50 mg of the drug in 500 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution and injected dropwise, starting at 10 drops per minute, then gradually increase the rate of administration (15 drops) until the uterus is completely relaxed. To continue the effect, the drug is administered intramuscularly at 10 mg every 4 to 6 hours, after which it is prescribed by mouth 10 mg 4 to 6 times a day with a gradual decrease in dose.
