Description of the medicine: Dihydrotachisterolum (Dihydrotachisterolum)

DIGIDROTACHIDEROL (Dihydrotachisterolum). 24-Methyl-9, 10-seco-5, 7, 22-cholestatriene-3-b-ol, or 24-methyl-9, 10-seco-10-a cholestratriene-5E, 7E, 22E.-ol-3 B.

Synonyms: Tachystin, Anlitanil, Antitetanin, Atecen, Dichysterol, Dihydrotachisterol, Dihydrotachysterin, Dygratyl, Manipal, Parterol, Tachidon, Tachystin, Tachystol, Tetilan and others.

Colorless crystals or white crystalline powder. Almost nerastvorim in water, soluble in alcohol.

The chemical structure is close to ergocalciferol (see). Has the ability to regulate the exchange of calcium and phosphorus. In a number of diseases, accompanied by a violation of phosphorus-calcium metabolism, promotes an increase in calcium absorption in the intestine and excretion of phosphorus in the urine. D-vitamin activity, unlike ergocalciferol, does not.

Applied with hypoparathyroidism (idiopathic and postoperative) and with other diseases, accompanied by a violation of phosphorus-calcium metabolism, including hypocalcemic convulsions, tetany, spasmophilia, allergic skin reactions, etc.

Take inside as a 0.1% solution in oil (1 mg of the drug in 1 ml) after eating 20 drops (0.5 mg) 3 times daily; In severe cases, with a steadily reduced content of calcium in the blood - 30 drops (0.75 mg) 3 times a day. On the 7 - 10th day of treatment, with a pronounced effect, they switch to maintenance therapy: 20 to 60 drops (0.5 to 1, 5 mg) per day 1 to 3 times a week.

The doses are individualized depending on the patient's condition and the calcium and phosphorus content in the blood, which is determined before the treatment, 5 to 7 days after its onset, then 1 to 2 times a month.

In the case of concomitant administration of calcium to the patient, dihydrotachysterol can be used in smaller doses.

Of side effects, nausea is possible.

Contraindicated with elevated levels of calcium in the blood.

Form release: 0.1% solution in oil (Solutio dihydrotachisteroli oleosa 0,1%) - a transparent oily liquid from light yellow to yellow in orange glass vials of 10 or 50 ml.
