Alprostadil (Alprostadil).

The preparation of the group of prostaglandins (PGE).

Synonyms: Vazaprostan, Prostavazin, Minprog, Prostandin, Prostavasin, Prostin VR, Vasaprostan.

It causes uterine muscle, the smooth muscle of the intestine and other organs, but at the same time has a strong peripheral vasodilator effect, improves blood flow in peripheral vessels, improves microcirculation, inhibits platelet aggregation and has dezagregatsionnoe action.

It is used mainly for chronic obliterating diseases of lower limb arteries (atherosclerosis and others.).

The drug is more effective in stage II and III of the lower limb ischemia.

Apply alprostadil intravenous and intra-arterial.

For intravenous use, the content of 2 ampoules (40 g preparation) are diluted in 250 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution. Enter drip (within 2 hours), 1, and in severe cases, 2 times a day. If there is a necessity to increase the dose of 60 mg (3 capsules) and administered over 3 hours.

When intra-arterial administration of 20 mg diluted (1 vial) in 50 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution. The course of treatment lasts 15 - 25 days.
