Vikasol is a synthetic analogue of vitamin K. It is considered as vitamin K 3.

Unlike natural preparations of vitamin K (phytomenadion, etc.), vikasol is a water-soluble compound and can be used not only inward, but also parenterally.

Vikasol has been proposed for use in a number of pathological conditions, accompanied by hypoprothrombinemia and bleeding, including jaundice in case of delayed bile flow, intractable hepatitis, parenchymal and capillary bleeding, after injury or surgery, bleeding in peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, Radiation sickness, hemorrhoidal and long-nasal bleeding; Prophylactically - in pregnant women during the last month of pregnancy to prevent the bleeding of newborns; In the presence of hemorrhagic phenomena in premature infants; With uterine juvenile and pre-climactericcrootations; Spontaneous bleeding; Preparation for surgical operations, and also in the postoperative period, if there is a risk of bleeding, with pulmonary bleeding for pulmonary tuberculosis, septic diseases accompanied by hemorrhagic phenomena. The drug is administered orally in the form of a powder, in tablets or in solution, as well as intramuscularly. The daily dose of vikasol for adults with oral administration is 0.015-0.03 g, for intramuscular injection 0.01-0.015 g.
