Description of the medicine: Lipamide (Lipamidum)
Amide of lipoic acid.
The crystalline powder is light yellow in color. It is practically insoluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol.
Indications for use are the same as for lipoic acid. In coronary atherosclerosis, take 0.025-0.05 g 3 times a day; the course of treatment is 20 to 30 days. In Botkin's disease (in the early stages), 0.025 g is prescribed 3 times a day in combination with pyridoxine and other vitamins, and, if necessary, with corticosteroids. In diabetic polyneuritis - 0.025-0.05 g 3 times a day.
Repeated courses are carried out after a break of 1 month.
The drug is better tolerated than lipoic acid, and less likely to cause side effects; in some cases, dyspeptic disorders are possible that occur when the dose is reduced or the drug is stopped.
Release form: tablets of 0.025 g, coated with a yellow shell, in a package of 50 pieces.
