Description of the medicine: Sodium hydrocytrate for injection (Natrii citras pro injectionibus)
SODIUM HYDROCITRATE FOR INJECTION (Natrii citras pro injectionibus).
Trisodium salt of citric acid.
Colorless crystals or a white crystalline powder; odorless, salty taste. Soluble in water (1: 1, 5), practically insoluble in alcohol.
Applied in the form of a 4 - 5% solution for preserving blood.
The anticoagulant effect depends on the transition of calcium in the blood to calcium citrate, which leads to the binding of free calcium ions involved in the formation of thromboplastin and in the transition of prothrombin to thrombin.
Release form: powder.
Storage: in well-closed containers.
