Hydrocitrate SODIUM FOR INJECTION (Natrii citras pro injectionibus).

Citric acid trisodium salt.

Colourless crystals or white crystalline powder, odorless, salty taste. Soluble in water (1: 1, 5), practically insoluble in alcohol.

Applied as a 4 - 5% solution for preserving blood.

Anticoagulant action depends on the transition of the blood calcium of calcium citrate, which leads to svyazavaniyu free calcium ions involved in the formation of thromboplastin and prothrombin to thrombin transition.
