Description of the medicine: Fenofibrate (Phenofibrate)

Phenofibrate *.

Isopropyl-2- [4- (4-chlorobenzoyl) -phenoxy] -2-methylpropionate.

Synonyms: Lipantil, Benprofibrate, Elasterin, Fenofibrate, Lipanthyl, Lipidil, Lipil, Lipoclar, Lipofen, Liponat, Nolipax, Panlipal, Protolipan and others.

By chemical structure has a similarity with other fibrates (clofibrate, bezafibrate, etc.).

Has hypolipidemic properties. The mechanism of action and indications for use is similar to other fibrates.

Assign fenofibrate to adults by 0.1 g (100 mg) 2 times a day before or during meals: 0.02 g (2 capsules) at breakfast and 0.01 g (1 capsule) during dinner.

Possible side effects and contraindications are the same as for clofibrate, but according to available data, fenofibrate is better tolerated by patients than clofibrate.

Product: in capsules of 0.1 g (100 mg) in a package of 50 capsules.
