Description of the medicine: Polysponinum (Polysponinum)

POLYSPONINUM.

Dry extract from rhizomes and roots of Dioscorea nipponica (Dioscorea nipponica Makino), family. Dioscoreaceae. Contains water-soluble steroidal glycosides (saponins) in an amount of at least 17%.

Amorphous hygroscopic powder from cream to brown.

Some steroid compounds, including those found in dioscore and other plants, can have moderate hypocholesterolemic effects and are proposed for use in the complex therapy of mild forms of atherosclerosis (in addition to the appropriate diet and other means).

Assign inside the form of tablets of 0.1 - 0.2 g 2 - 3 times a day after meals. Treatment is performed in cycles of 20 to 30 days with 7 to 10-day intervals. The course of treatment is usually 3 to 4 months. If necessary, conduct the same course after a 3 - 4-month break.

When using polisponina can occur side effects: loss of appetite, sweating, with prolonged use, sometimes itching itch. After drug cancellation, side effects disappear.
