A fat emulsion prepared from purified soybean oil emulsified with isotonic (2, 5%) glycerol solution and containing particles (beads) from the oil size of 0.1 to 1 0 mm, which corresponds to the size of chylomicrons in the blood.

A similar product is also produced under the name of "Intralipid" (Intralipid).

Apply lipofundin (Intralipid) for parenteral nutrition in the postoperative period, with extensive burns, severe infectious diseases, unconsciousness, cancer of the stomach and esophagus and other conditions under which shows the use of drugs for parenteral nutrition.

There is evidence of the effectiveness of Intralipid in acute pancreatitis (due to the inhibition of secretion of pancreatic juice).

Enter lipofundin intravenous drip usually at the rate of 1 to 2 grams of fat per 1 kg of body weight per day, which is about 10 - 20 ml lipofundina S 10% or 5 - 10 ml lipofundina S 20%. The drug is contraindicated in shock, myocardial infarction, stroke, severe liver disease, hyperlipidemia, nephrotic syndrome, severely expressed atherosclerosis.
