Blood sugar

The most frequent indicator of carbohydrate metabolism is the sugar content in the blood. Its short-term increase arises with emotional excitement, stressful reactions, painful attacks, after eating. A persistent increase in blood sugar is observed in diabetes mellitus and other diseases of the endocrine glands.
When the fat metabolism is broken, the amount of lipids and their fractions increases: triglycerides, lipoproteins and cholesterol esters. These same indicators are important for assessing the functional abilities of the liver and kidneys in a variety of diseases. The increase in lipid content occurs after eating and lasts 8-9 hours. A constant increase in lipids in the blood is observed with obesity, hepatitis, atherosclerosis, nephrosis, and diabetes.
