Computer tomography

Computer tomography. Circular illumination and the subsequent construction of a layered image of an object using a high-speed computer. It provides an opportunity to establish the localization and prevalence of the pathological process, to evaluate the results of treatment, including radiotherapy, to select approaches and the scope of surgical intervention.
Produced with the help of special devices - computer tomographs with a rotating X-ray tube, which moves around a stationary object, "line by line" examining the whole body or part of it. Since human organs and tissues absorb X-rays in an unequal degree, their image looks in the form of "strokes" - the computer-installed absorption coefficient for each point of the layer being scanned. Computer tomographs allow you to select layers from 2 to 10 mm with a scan of a single layer 2-5 seconds, with instant reproduction of the image in black and white or in color.
Computer research is carried out, as a rule, in the position of the patient lying on his back. There are no contraindications, it is easy to transfer, so it can be carried out on an outpatient basis, as well as gravely ill. It gives an opportunity to examine all parts of the body: the head, neck, chest organs, abdominal cavity, spinal cord, mammary glands, spine, bones and joints.
Computer tomography of the head is done after a complete clinical examination of the patient with suspected damage to the central lingual system. With craniocerebral trauma, fractures of the skull bones, hemorrhages, bruises and brain edema are revealed. With the help of the method, one can detect vascular malformations - aneurysms. When brain tumors determine their location, identify the source of growth and the prevalence of the tumor.
When examining the chest, mediastinal, trunk vessels, the heart, as well as the lungs and lymph nodes are clearly visible.
When examining the organs of the abdominal cavity and vaginal space, one can obtain an image of the spleen, liver, pancreas and kidneys (kidneys are more informative for artificial contrasting).
Computer tomography is safe and does not provide oslozhepiy. Supplementing the data of clinical and radiological research, allows to obtain more complete information about the organs.
