Congenital dislocations - developed during fetal life of the fetus, and acquired - as a result of injury (traumatic dislocation) or pathological process in the area of the joint (pathological dislocation) are distinguished.
The vast majority of congenital dislocations occur in the hip joint on one side or, more often, on both sides. As a rule, they are noticed when the child starts walking. There is lameness, loose joint, soreness in it, shortening of the leg. For bilateral dislocation gait waddling ("duck") is characteristic. The diagnosis is clarified by radiograph.
