Panaritium bone

Panaritium bone is more often localized on the nail phalanx, usually the result of poor treatment of subcutaneous panaritium. Prolonged flow of subcutaneous felon, purulent discharge from the wound and fistula should guide the doctor to look for signs of bone felon. Severe pain syndrome, significant thickening of the finger, pain during palpation or functional load. X-ray examination indicates the destruction of bone tissue, however, destructive changes detected radiographically are usually determined not earlier than 10-14 days. Treatment operative (removal of non-viable bone fragments, sanation and drainage of the wound). After the operation, immobilization of the brush in a functional position, daily dressings, periodic radiographic examination (progression of bone destruction). The prognosis is serious, the function of the finger usually suffers, which is especially important when the first finger of the hand is affected.
