Localized periodontitis

Localized periodontitis. Etiology: violation of the contact point with approximal caries, trauma over the edge of the filling, details of dentures.

Pathogenesis is associated with damage to the dentogingival joint and the formation of dentogingival pockets.

Symptoms, course. Jamming food; In acute and exacerbated flow - pain that increases with eating, puffiness and hyperemia of the gum, abscess formation, pathological mobility of the tooth (teeth). In chronic course, a feeling of embarrassment, food stuck, the gum is thickened, sometimes thinned. Approximal defects, inferior fillings or artificial crowns on the tooth or adjacent teeth. Radiographically - resorption of interdental and inter-root septa, expressed in varying degrees.

Treatment. Elimination of dentogingival pockets. With an abscess - an autopsy, with a significant destruction of the socket - the extraction of the tooth. It is necessary to restore the contact point between the teeth by filling or tabs.

Forecast. Elimination of the periodontal pocket and factors damaging the gingival margin leads to a cure.
