arteriomesenteric obstruction
Arteriomesenteric partial obstruction - mptomokompleks due partly to compression of the lower horizontal portion of the duodenum of the superior mesenteric artery. It may be acute (with excessive food intake) and chronic (when expressed vistsero- and gastroptosis).
Symptoms within. Pain, feeling of heaviness and fullness in the epigastric region, occurring after a meal and then disappear when the patients receiving a knee-elbow position, nausea and, in some cases - vomiting at the height of pain. Characteristically asthenic constitution or severe emaciation patients. X-ray examination reveals compression of the narrow transverse constriction (in place of the projection of the superior mesenteric artery) lower horizontal branch of the duodenum.
Treatment. Frequent small feedings; in severe cases, the patient is recommended at first to take the knee-elbow position after eating (which reduces the tension of the mesentery of the small intestine and colon compression of the superior mesenteric artery), anabolic steroid hormones. In severe cases - surgery.
