Hepatolienal syndrome

Hepatolienal syndrome is a combined increase in the liver and spleen. It is observed with cirrhosis of the liver, portal hypertension, infectious and parasitic diseases and in other cases.

Symptoms, course. There is a simultaneous increase in the liver and spleen, with a significant prescription of the process - compaction. There may be hyperglobulinemia, increased ESR, changes in protein-sediment samples. Hematological features of hepatolienal syndrome are symptoms of hypersplenism - anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia.

Treatment. The main disease is treated. With a pronounced hypersplenism, splenectomy.
