Pyelitis

Pielit - inflammation of the renal pelvis. Acute inflammation of the mucosa of the upper urinary tract-pelvis and calyx - is invariably accompanied by inflammatory damage and kidney parenchyma. Chronic inflammation of the pelvis and calyx is always supported by any cause - a chronic inflammation of the interstitial tissue of the kidneys or a disease that prevents the elimination of the inflammatory process (stone pelvis, upper urinary tract tumor, ureteral stricture, etc.). In all these cases it is necessary to diagnose the underlying disease - chronic pyelonephritis, infected nephrolithiasis, hydronephrosis, swelling, etc. There is almost no "clean" pyelitis, and it is more correct to talk about acute and chronic pyelonephritis.
