Antrite

ANTHRITIS (OTOONTRIT) - inflammation of the walls of the antrum and surrounding tissues. It occurs in infants, more often in premature infants with hypotrophy, and weakened by various diseases.

Symptoms, course. The disease can occur with a pronounced clinical picture (prolonged toxicosis, rapid weight loss of the child) and latent. The otoscopic data are meager: the tympanic membrane is dull, the identification points are poorly defined. The child is sleepy or, conversely, is restless, often crying, sleeping and eating badly, losing weight, the skin becomes pale gray or cyanotic, heart tones are muffled, the pulse is rapid, the stool is liquid, the body temperature is increased (38-39 gr C), but more often Subfebrile or even normal. In the blood-leukocytosis (neutrophilia), the shift of the white formula to the left.

Diagnosis helps to establish tympanopuncture, trial paracentesis, anthropoon, X-ray study.

Treatment. Antibiotic therapy with the mandatory determination of the sensitivity of microflora to antibiotics. A good effect is injecting penicillin into the region of the posterior walls of the external auditory canal. In toxicosis, gamma globulin, dry plasma transfusion, intravenous fluids of glucose solution are used. If anthropuncture with introduction of an antrum penicillin does not produce an effect, then anthotomy is administered under local anesthesia.
