Atresia and synechia of the nasal cavity

Atresia and sinocia of NOSA CAVITY-connective tissue, cartilaginous or bone seams, partially or completely covering the lumen of the nose. Rarely they are congenital, more often they are the result of smallpox, diphtheria, typhus, systemic lupus erythematosus, syphilis, scleroma, trauma or cauterization in the nose with a therapeutic purpose (galvanocauter).

Symptoms, course. Partial or complete shutdown of nasal breathing on the side of the lesion. They are recognized with the help of anterior rhinoscopy and probing of the nasal cavity, posterior rhinoscopy and palpation of the nasopharynx. Treatment is surgical.
