Balanoposthitis
Balanoposthitis is an inflammation of the scalp and inner fluke of the prepuce of the penis.
Etiology: more common infection (staphylococci, streptococci, fusospiriple symbiosis, yeast fungi); Often infection occurs during sexual contact. The development of balanoposthitis is favored by common diseases that weaken the natural resistance of the skin to the xaproxitizing flora (diabetes mellitus, anemia, hypovitaminosis, allergic diseases), local predisposing factors (narrowness of the foreskin, purulent discharge from the urethra, lack of hygienic care).
Clinical picture. There are simple, erosive and gangrenous balanoposthitis. A simple balanoposthitis is characterized by diffuse redness, edema and maceration of the scalp and inner flap of the foreskin, followed by the formation of surface isolated and confluent erosions of varying size and shape with purulent discharge, surrounded by scraps of macerated epithelium. Subjective-mild burning and itching.
Erosive balanoposthitis is characterized by the formation of white swollen areas of necrotic epithelium, and then of large sharply delimited bright red painful erosions with a rim of maceration on the periphery. The process can be complicated by phimosis. Often there is painful regional lymphangitis and inguinal lymphadenitis. After the recourse of simple and erosive balanoposthitis, there are no traces.
Gangrenous balanoposthitis is accompanied by fever, general weakness. There are deep painful purulent-necrotic ulcers of various sizes against the background of sharp edema and reddening of the head and foreskin. Phimosis usually develops; Perforation of the foreskin is possible. Ulcers heal slowly. In all cases of balanoposthitis, it is necessary to exclude syphilis (studies on pale treponemia, serological reactions, confrontation).
Treatment. With a simple and erosive balanoposthitis, there is enough local disinfectant and anti-inflammatory therapy (warm baths with potassium permanganate, ointments - 1% decamine, "Lorinden-S", "Gyioxysone", "Dermozolone", 10% xerobes, powder-dermatol, xerophore). With gangrenous balanoposthitis, phimosis and lymphadenitis, antibiotics are administered additionally.
Prevention. Treatment of general and local disorders that favor the development of balanoposthitis. It is necessary to observe personal hygiene.
