hip fracture

Hip fracture is caused by the extraction of the pelvic end in complicated breech birth, cesarean section (removal of the leg). There diaphyseal fractures and slipped capital femoral epiphysis.

On examination of the newborn pay attention to the forced position of the limb (leg bent at the knee and hip joints, is shown), soft tissue swelling hips, with characteristic smoothness epiphysiolysis hip contours, sharp restriction of active movements, considerable concern child in passive movements, crepitus of fragments. On radiographs at diaphyseal fractures is determined by the displacement of bone fragments in length and angle. Radiological changes at epiphysiolysis appear on the 10-12th day in the form of a massive callus and subluxation of the hip joint.

Treatment consists of applying traction on Schede for a period of 12-14 days. When epiphysiolysis after removal of the traction applied, the spacer rail for preventing the formation of pathological dislocation of the hip. In late after epiphysiolysis may experience impaired growth and the formation of limb varus deformity of the thigh.
