Esophagus diverticulum

Diverticulum of the esophagus is localized in the cervical region (70%), at the tracheal bifurcation level (20%) and above the diaphragm (10%). Bifurcation diverticula refers to traction diverticula, the rest to pulsatile diverticula. For the diagnosis of diverticulum more often resort to X-ray examination with contrast; Endoscopic examination should be used according to the indications and with caution (possibly the perforation of the diverticulum, especially the cervical).
