Glucose

Glucose is one of the main sources of energy for humans, the only one for its nervous system. It is deposited in the form of glycogen in the liver (100 g) and muscles (250 g). The content of glucose in the blood is maintained at a constant level (90 - PO mg%). The concentration of free glucose in the blood is 70-90 mg% *, in tissues - 20 mg%. Glucose, or grape sugar (in mature grapes - 50 mg%), is contained in almost all fruit and berry food plants.
