Botanical characteristics. Family araliaevye. Perennial bush, prickly, about 1 m high, with straight trunks. The bark is light gray in color. Zamaniha has a long rhizome, from which small number of thick roots of cord-shaped form leave. Leaves are long-petioled, round in shape, up to 35 cm in diameter, palchatoclastic. Light greenish flowers are collected in slightly branched panicles. Blossoms in June-July. The fruits are bright, reddish-orange in color, globular in shape. Ripen in August-September.

Spread. It occurs in coniferous and birch forests of Primorsky Krai.

Used parts of the plant. Rhizomes with roots collected during the ripening of fruits.
In the roots and rhizomes of zamaniha high contains essential oil, which includes phenols, alcohols and aldehydes, free acids and hydrocarbons, as well as saponins (echinoxosides) and alkaloids.

Application. As a stimulant for asthenia, depressive states, hypotension, sexual weakness, diabetes, as well as physical and mental fatigue.

Contraindications. Hypertensive disease, as well as an individual intolerance of zamanichi.

Preparation. In drugstores the tincture of zamaniha is on sale. Take 30-40 drops 2-3 times a day before meals. The course of treatment is 1-2 months.
