SENESTHOPATHY - spontaneously arising pathological sensations, not having a somatic basis, usually painful and painful; Are manifested by a feeling of burning, squeezing, tightening and are accompanied by experiences of their unusualness and difference from normal sensations. Occur in different parts of the body, do not correspond to the localization of specific anatomical formations and serve as the basis for hypochondriac or delusional ideas. Persistence and bizarre sensations are combined with the absence or insignificance of the somatic pathology, which is revealed in objective research. Treatment with analgesics and other "somatic" medications does not bring relief. Senostopathies are observed in neurotic disorders, characterized by masked depression and some forms of schizophrenia.
