HILOTORAX
HILOTORAX is a collection of lymph in the pleural cavity. It occurs as a result of damage to the thoracic duct wall during thoracic operations, much less often - with chest injuries, as well as due to malformations of the thoracic duct, inflammatory and tumor processes of various organs of the thoracic cavity. Clinical manifestations are caused by compression of the lung and displacement of the mediastinum with symptoms of respiratory failure and hemodynamic disorders. Treatment is carried out in a hospital. Pleural puncture or drainage of the pleural cavity with removal of lymph, parenteral nutrition is indicated. With a long process, there may be a need for surgical intervention - an intrathoracic ligation of a damaged duct.
