If you want to install several Windows 9x on your machine (for example,
 One version of the Russian, and the second German, or one version for work, and another
 For experiments), then you can use the method described below.
 1. In a Windows environment, you must copy it for later use in the
 Separate directory all files from the root directory C: \ that are related to
 Windows (most importantly: autoexec.bat, config.sys, io.sys, msdos.sys).
 2. Overloaded into DOS mode and resolutely nailed these files in the root
 Directory C: \ so that when installing the second OSes there were no superfluous
 Issues.
 3. Install new Windows on a logical drive, where Windows is not yet installed.
 4. Boot into the new Windows, and then using the WinRAR archiver Evgenia

 (Self-extracting) archive containing the saved files
 (Autoexec.bat, config.sys, io.sys, msdos.sys), and comment on the archive
 in the following way:

 Path = C: \

 Setup = WIN_DIR \ RUNDLL.EXE user.exe, ExitWindowsExec
 Where:
 Silent - unpacking the archive without a preliminary question;
 Path = C: \ - path for unpacked files;
 Overwrite = 1 - replace existing files with archive files;
 Setup - the command to launch a specific application (in this case, the command
 Windows overload);
 WIN_DIR is the path to the RUNDLL.EXE file of the Windows that you plan to leave,
 those.  For the second Windows, most likely, D: \ WINDOWS.
 5. To fully reboot the computer, create or edit the dosstart.bat file
 In the main directory of the new Windows in accordance with the advice of Igor Leiko
 ([email protected] http://www.redline.ru/~ipl), listed in section 1.2

 6. Create a shortcut to your SFX-archive and place it best on the panel
 Quick Launch.  By clicking on this label, you can
 Reboot into the first Windows (but first, perform step 7!).
 7. Create a similar SFX archive with files from the root directory C: \ and c
 A comment to reboot from the first Windows to the second, the only one
 The difference of the comment from the already done is the path to the file RUNDLL.EXE (C: \ WINDOWS).
 8. Follow steps 5 and 6 for the first Windows.
 Note: if there is no WinRAR, then you can write a similar in meaning
 Bat-file, but using SFX-archive with the comment is more convenient.

 (19) Two Windows can be installed on one logical drive, but then the "Program Files" directory will be shared with all the ensuing consequences ... I solved this problem as follows: 1. Install the system at a minimum.  2. Export the entire registry to a text file.  3. Rename the "Program Files" directory, for example, in the "App".  4. In any editor, change all the "Program Files" to "App" and "PROGRA ~ 1" to "APP" in the exported file.  5. Import the edited file back to the registry.  6. Reboot immediately.  After that, most programs will be installed in this directory.  If not, it's easy to change manually.
