Glossary of terms Feng Shui

Feng Shui - translates as "wind - water". The ancient Chinese doctrine of the energy interaction between housing and the surrounding world, man and housing. It is the art of using, attracting and generating Qi energy.
Tao. The mysterious root cause of the universe, the original energy.
Qi. The energy that fills the human body and everything that surrounds it - the so-called. "The breath of life." Feng Shui regards it as a kind of substance capable of flowing, accelerating, stagnating, disappearing ... One of the tasks of Feng Shui is to ensure a uniform circulation of Qi in a dwelling.
Sha. Negative (fatal) Qi. Sha is formed, like a whirlpool, in the narrow and dark places of our home. Our task is not to allow Sha to harm the dwellers of the dwelling, and to correctly arrange the scattering elements.
Ian . The Tao polarity: male, positive, light, active principle, which exists only together with Yin.
Yin . The Tao polarity: a female, negative, dark, passive principle that exists only together with Yang.
Taiji. The fusion of Yin and Yang, from which life arises.
Five elements (elements). The main categories of Qi, or the five forces of the universe: they are given the symbolic names of the Tree, Water, Fire, Metal, Earth. To the four signs of European astrology - Water, Air, Earth and Fire - do not have a relationship.
Gua. One of the eight trigrams, or areas of Bagua.
B agua. A magical circle of eight trigrams (gua), describing the universe.
The number of Gua. According to the Ba-Tzi system, it allows you to find out the directions of light that are favorable and unfavorable for a particular person.
Ba Ji (school). One of the versions of Compass Fenshui School, which allows to determine the most favorable and unfavorable direction for each person. Used when choosing the orientation of buildings, premises, furniture.
Trigram. The symbol of the energy of the universe, consisting of three lines. They represent a combination of energies Yin (dashed line) and Yang (solid line). Eight possible configurations correspond to the eight basic energies of Bagua.
Hexagram - a symbol consisting of two BA GUA, two trigrams , that is - of six continuous or interrupted in the middle of the features .
Also from ancient times there is a view of hexagrams as a combination of three pairs of traits, each of which symbolizes cosmic potency: the upper one - the sky, the middle one - of man, the lower one - the earth.
Lo Pan. Professional compass of Feng Shui experts.
Natal chart. It is information about the balance of the Five Elements that determine the life of a particular person. Used in Feng Shui to carry out energy tuning of housing to the hosts.
Geomantic table. This is the energy characteristic of the dwelling, connected with the date of construction and orientation in the space of its facade and entrance door. This table shows how energy flows in the house and how it affects its inhabitants.
Air bells . The most famous "attribute" Feng Shui. Sounding metal attracts Qi and dissipates negative influences.
