PDF (Portable Document Format)
A portable document format created by Adobe as a medium for cross-platform data exchange.
Although there are many ways to transfer a document, for example, between Windows and Mac OS, Adobe PDF offers the most elegant solution.
The format does not impose any restrictions on the appearance of the document - text, vector and raster graphics can be combined in any way.
The principle "all my burden with me" is implemented - to view the PDF-file you do not need anything other than the file itself and the free program Acrobat Reader.
PDF was originally created as an electronic document format.
The need to quickly navigate through the pages and objects of the document determined the hierarchical structure of the PDF data.
At the beginning of the file there is a table of contents showing where and what objects are located in the file, then the data itself goes.
In order to do anything with a PDF file, you need to have it entirely, because the piece of data that you need first can be in any part of the file - even at the very end.
For documents with a clear predominance of text and vector graphics, the PDF format, as a rule, provides a noticeable reduction in the file size (with a corresponding reduction in the time of sending over the network, etc.).
You can download the latest version of Adobe Reader from the manufacturer's website .
