Paul, by the will of God called apostle of Jesus Christ, and Sosthenes a brother, |
| 2
The church of God in Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours: |
| 3
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 4
Thank my God always for you because of the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, |
| 5
because in Him you through everything on every word and all knowledge - |
| 6
for the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you - |
| 7
so that you are not lacking in any gift, waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 8
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
| 10
I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and there was no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
| eleven
For from [home] Chloe unto me of you, my brethren, that there are contentions among you. |
| 12
I mean what you say, `I am of Paul; `I am of Apollos'; `I Kifin '; `And I of Christ." |
| 13
Is Christ divided? Is Paul crucified for you? or in the name of Paul were ye baptized?
| 14
I thank God that I did not baptize one of you, except Crispus and Gaius, |
| 15
Lest any should say that I had baptized in my name. |
| 16
I also baptized the household of Stephanas; baptized there yet, I know not.
| 17
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ be abolished. |
| 18
For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but who are being saved, --sila of God for us. |
| 19
For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the prudent. |
| 20
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? |
| 21
For when the world [his] wisdom did not know God in the wisdom of God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. |
| 22
For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom; |
| 23
but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness, |
| 24
for those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom; |
| 25
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. |
| 26
See, brethren, that ye also the called: not many [of you] wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; |
| 27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to shame the strong; |
| 28
and the base things of the world and the despised and nothing meaningful, hath God chosen, yea, - |
| 29
so that no flesh should glory in His presence. |
| thirty
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, |
| 31
that [was] as it is written: Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. |
