About times and times there is no need to write to you, brethren,
Because you yourself know for certain that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
For, when they say: "peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them, like the torment of the child in the womb, and will not escape.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day finds you like a thief.
For you are all sons of light and sons of the day: we are not the [sons] of the night, nor of darkness.

th So, we will not sleep, like the others, but we will be awake and sober.
th For those who sleep sleep at night, and those who are drunk revel in the night.
But being the [sons] of the day, let us be sober, having put on the armor of faith and love and the helmet of the hope of salvation,
Because God has determined us not to anger, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died for us, that we, whether we are awake, or sleep, live with Him.

eleven Therefore admonish one another, and build up one another, as you also do.
We ask you, brethren, to respect the working people of you, and your leaders in the Lord, and admonish you,
And to esteem them mainly with love for their cause; Be at peace with one another.
We also beseech you, brethren, admonish the unjust, console the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all.
See that no one repays evil for evil to anyone; But always look for good and for each other and for everyone.

Always rejoice.
th Pray without ceasing.
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Do not quench the spirit.
Prophesies do not despise.
Test everything, hold on to the good.
Keep away from all kinds of evil.

The very God of peace sanctify you in all its fullness, and your spirit and soul and body in the whole will be preserved without blemish at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
Brethren! Pray for us.
th Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
th I adjure you by the Lord to read this message to all the holy brethren.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
