After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the country Maonitskoy, made war against Jehoshaphat.
And they came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea, from Syria, and here they are in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
And Jehoshaphat feared, and to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
And Judah gathered themselves together to ask [help] of the LORD; out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
and said: O Lord God of our fathers! Art not thou God in heaven? And you rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in thine hand is power and might, and no one can stand against you!
Hast not thou, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and gave it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying:
when evil cometh upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before thee, for thy name is in this house; and cry unto thee in our affliction, and thou wilt hear and help.
And now, behold the children of Ammon and Moab, and [the inhabitants of] Mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came up out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them -
eleven Now they pay us [the fact] that come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us.
O our God! You judge them. For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us, and we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you!
And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their sons.

Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord among the assembly
and he said, Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat! Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed before this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's.
Tomorrow go out against them: behold, they are coming up the hill Tzitz, and you will find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
Do not you fight in this battle; yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord [sent] to you. O Judah and Jerusalem! do not fear or be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord be with you.
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
Then the Levites from the Kohathites and of the sons of Korah - praise the Lord God of Israel, very loud voice.

And they rose up early in the morning, and they came to the wilderness of Tekoa; and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, that they are in the beauty of holiness, speaking before the army, gave thanks, and said, Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy endures forever!
And while [as] they began to sing and praise, the Lord of Ammon, Moab, and [the inhabitants of] Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, and they were amazed:
For the children of Ammon and Moab against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, to slay and destroy [them], and when the end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
And when Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and behold - they were corpses lying on the ground, and none escaped.
And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them in abundance both riches, and clothing, and precious things, and took for themselves, more than they [could] carry. And they were three days taking the spoil; so great [was] it!
And on the fourth day they assembled in the valley of blessing, for there they blessed the LORD. Therefore they called that place the valley of blessing unto this day.
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them rejoice over their enemies.
And they came to Jerusalem with lutes and harps and trumpets, to the house of the LORD.
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they heard [himself] the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
thirty And the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, and his God gave him rest on every side.

And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty-five years old [was] when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah, daughter of Shilhi.
And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing right in the sight of the LORD.
But the high places were not taken away, and the people have not turned their hearts to the God of their fathers.
Rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel.
And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly
and joined with him to make ships to go to Tarshish; and they made the ships in Eziongaber.
And spoken [then] Eliezer son dodavit of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have joined with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. --And The ships were broken and could not go to Tarshish.
