Naaman, commander of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the Lord gave victory to Syria; and this man was a great warrior, but a leper.
Syrians [once] gone out in bands, and took captive from the land of Israel a little maid, and she waited on Naaman's wife.
And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria, he would have removed him of his leprosy!
And he went [Naaman] and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
And the king said to the Syrians [Naaman] Go, go, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. He went and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [shekels] of gold, and ten changes of raiment;
and he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said: together with the letter of these things, behold, I have sent to you Naaman my servant, that thou mayest him of his leprosy.
The king of Israel had read the letter, he rent his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that he sends to me, so I took it with human leprosy? Now, I pray you, and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.
When he heard Elisha, the man of God, that the king of Israel tore his clothes, that he sent to the king, Why have you torn your clothes? let him come to me and know that there is a prophet in Israel.

So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the entrance of the house of Elisha.
And he sent to him Elisha, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh from you, and be clean.
eleven And Naaman was angry and went away and said, Behold, I thought that it will be released, and will call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper;
Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them and be cleansed? So he turned and went away in a rage.
And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, My father, [if] [be] something important told you a prophet, he would have done if you are? and even more so when he says to you, `and wash and be clean."
And he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God, and his flesh as a small child, and he was clean.

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him, and said, Behold, I have learned that in all the land there is no God, but in Israel; And now accept a gift from your servant.
And he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand! I will not accept. And he urged him to take, but he refused.
And Naaman said, If not, then let your servant will land as two mules' burden, because it is not thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but to the Lord;
In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant: when my master goes into Rimmon house to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow down in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing .
And he said to him: Go in peace. And he departed from him a little way.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God: Behold, my lord refused to take his hands from Naaman, this Syrian, in that he brought. As the Lord lives! I'll run after him, and take him any thing.
And Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he alighted from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is it peace?
He replied with the world; My master has sent me, saying, `Lo, now come to me from Mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets; give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothes. "
And Naaman said, two talents. And entreated him. And he gave up two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bore them before him.
When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand and put it home. And let the men go, and they departed.
When he came and stood before his master, Elisha said to him: Whence, Gehazi? And he said, did not go anywhere your servant.
And he said to him, Did not my heart with thee, when the man turned to meet you again from his chariot? time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and oxen, and servants or slaves?
The leprosy of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and to thy seed for ever. And he went out from him [white] leprosy as snow.
