And it was after this, that Absalom the son of David [was] beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar, and Amnon loved her son David.
And Amnon was so that sick because of Tamar his sister; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard to do anything with it.
But Amnon had a friend named Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother; and Jonadab was a very shrewd man.
And he said unto him, Why art thou, grow thin with each passing day, the son of Tsar, --Not tell me? And Amnon said unto Tamar, Absalom's sister, my brother, I love.
And Jonadab said to him: Lie down in your bed and pretend to be ill; and when your father comes to see you, say to him: let him come Tamar, my sister, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see and eat it at her hand.
So Amnon lay down and pretended to be sick, and the king came to visit him; and Amnon said to the king, let him come Tamar, my sister, and bake the cake in my sight, or two, that I may eat from her hand.
And David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go into the house of Amnon your brother and prepare food for him.
And she went to her brother Amnon's house; and he lies. And she took flour and kneaded it, and made before his eyes, and baked the cakes
and she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And all the people came out of it,
And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat from your hand. And Tamar took the cakes that are made, and brought Amnon her brother, into the inner room.
eleven And when she had brought them unto him, that he may eat, he grabbed her and said to her, Come lie with me, my sister.
But she said, No, my brother, do not humble me, for it is not done in Israel; do not do this folly.
And I, whither shall I cause my shame? And you, you're one of the fools in Israel. You speak to the king; he will not withhold me from thee.
But he would not hearken unto her, and overcame her, and raped her, and lay with her.
Then Amnon hated her with great hatred, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had it; and Amnon said to her, Arise, be gone.
And [Tamar] told him, no, send me away - it is evil more than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not listen to her.
And he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put it out from me, and shut the door after her.
She was wearing a garment, for with such robes were the king's virgin daughters. And the servant took her out and locked the door behind her.
And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colors that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.
And Absalom said to her, her brother: if your brother Amnon been with you? --no now thy peace, my sister; He - your brother; not thy heart is distressed about the matter. And Tamar remained desolate in the house of her brother Absalom.

And king David heard of all these things, he was very angry.
Absalom spoke to Amnon neither bad nor good; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
And after two years it was shearers [sheep] Absalom in Vaal-- hazor that Ephraim, and Absalom invited all the king's sons.
And Absalom came to the king and said, Behold now, shearers [sheep] thy servant; let the king and his servants go with thy servant.
But the king said to Absalom: Nay, my son, we do not go all to not be a burden to you. And he pressed him [Absalom]; but he would not go, but blessed him.
Then he said Absalom, at least let us go Amnon my brother. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee?
But Absalom pressed him, and he let go with him Amnon and all the king's sons.
Absalom commanded his servants, saying, See, once Amnon heart was merry with wine, and I say to you, `Strike Amnon", then kill him, fear not; This I command you, be strong and brave.
And the servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons got up, sat down, each on his mule, and fled.

thirty When they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them.
Then the king arose, and rent his garments, and lay on the ground, and all his servants to him, rent their garments.
But Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother, said, Let not my lord suppose that all the young men the king's sons; Amnon only is dead, for Absalom had this idea to the day [Amnon] forced his sister;
Now therefore let my lord the king, do not worry the idea if all the king's sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.
And Absalom fled. And he lifted up the young man that kept the watch, his eyes, and saw, and behold, a lot of people walking along the road on the slope of the mountain.
And Jonadab said unto the king's sons come; in the words of thy servant, so it is.
And as soon as he said it, that king's sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept. And the king and all his servants wept very sore.
Absalom fled and went to Talmai, son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
Absalom fled and went to Geshur, and was there three years.
And king David Absalom; for he was comforted about Amnon's death.
