Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest |

and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, might bring them bound to Jerusalem. |

|
When he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from the sky. |
4
|
He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him: Saul, Saul! do you persecute me? |
5
|
He said: Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said: I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. |
6
|
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord! what wilt thou have me to do? and the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the city; and it shall be told thee what thou must do. |

|
The men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. |

|
Saul arose from the earth, and with open eyes saw no one. They led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus. |

|
And for three days he did not see, and neither ate nor drank.
|

|
In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias! He said: I am, Lord. |

And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul; he is praying, |

and I saw in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, that he had received his sight. |

|
But Ananias answered: Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints in Jerusalem; |
14
|
And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. |
15
|
But the Lord said unto him, Go, for he is a chosen vessel to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. |
16
|
For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. |
17
|
Ananias went and entered the house, and laid hands on him, said: Brother Saul, Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me to you sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. |
18
|
And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight; and arose, and was baptized, |
19
|
and he took food and was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples in Damascus. |
20
|
And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. |
21
|
And all who heard were astonished and said: Is not this the most, who drove in Jerusalem called on this name? Yes, and here for those come to them bound to the chief priests. |

|
But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews living in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

When many days, the Jews to kill him. |
24
|
But Saul found out about it their intent. And day and night they watched the gates in order to kill him. |

|
Pupils night, taking him down by the wall in a basket. |

|
Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. |

|
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and told them how on the road he had seen the Lord, and that the LORD said to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. |

|
And he was with them coming in and going out in Jerusalem, and preached boldly in the name of the Lord. |

|
He spoke and disputed with the Hellenists; but they were seeking to kill him. |

Brethren, knowing [of these things], sent him to Caesarea and taken to Tarsus. |

|
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, building and walking in the fear of the Lord; and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

It happened, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came and to the saints who dwelt at Lydda. |
33
|
There he found a man named Aeneas, who eight years lying in bed relaxing. |
34
|
Peter said to him, Aeneas! Jesus Christ heals you; Arise and make your bed. And he arose immediately. |
35
|
And we saw him all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron, and turned to the Lord.

|
In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, which means 'gazelle'; she was full of good works and acts of charity. |
37
|
It happened in those days that she fell sick and died. She washed, they laid in an upper chamber. |
38
|
Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him to request that he would not delay to come to them. |
39
|
Peter arose and went with them; and when he arrived, they brought him into the upper chamber, and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while living with them. |
40
|
Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise! Arise. And she opened her eyes and when she saw Peter, she sat. |
41
|
He gave her his hand, picked it up, and calling the saints and widows, presented her alive. |
42
|
And it was known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. |
43
|
And he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner. |
