Deuteronomy 14

1 You are the children of the Lord your God; not make any cuttings [on the body] [your] not cut out the hair between your eyes for the dead;
2 for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee, that thou be a peculiar people of all peoples that are upon the earth.
3 Do not eat any abominable thing.
4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, sheep, goats,
5 deer and roe deer, and buffalo and deer, and bison, and oryx, and kamelopard.
6 Every animal that parts the hoof, and is clovenfooted two, and chews the cud, that ye shall eat;
7 shall ye not eat of those that chew the cud and have cloven hooves with a deep cut: the camel, the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but do not have the hoof; they are unclean to you;
8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead bodies.
9 Of all [animals] that are in the water, eat all that have fins and scales;
10 and all those who do not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
eleven All clean birds ye shall eat;
12 but ye shall not eat of these: the eagle, vulture and the sea eagle
13 and the kite, and the falcon, and the vulture to breed them,
14 And every raven after his kind;
15 and the ostrich, and the owl, and the seagull, and the hawk after his kind,
16 and the owl, and the ibis and the swan,
17 and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant,
18 and herons, and Zuya after his kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19 All winged creeping things are unclean to you, do not eat [them].
20 All clean birds ye shall eat.
21 Do not eat no dead bodies; the stranger that [happen] within thy gates, give it, he may eat it, or sell it, because you are a people holy to the LORD your God. Do not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

22 Tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field [your] yearly,
23 and thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, to put his name there; the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and thine oil, and the firstborn of your herds and thy sheep, that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord your God all the days.
24 If the way is too long for you, so that you can not carry it, because it is far from you the place which the LORD thy God, to put his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee,
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and go to the place which the LORD thy God;
26 and buy silver all these things, that your soul desires, for oxen, sheep, wine, strong drink and all that will require thy soul; and thou shalt eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, and your family.
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates, do not leave, because he has no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 At the end of three years all the tithe of thine increase the same year and luggage [these things] within thy gates;
29 And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within thy gates, and shall eat and be satisfied, in order to bless you the LORD thy God in all the work of your hands that you do.
