After that, they said to Joseph, "Behold, your father is sick." And he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
Jacob was notified and said: "Behold, your son Joseph is coming to you." Israel gathered strength and sat on the bed.
And Jacob said to Joseph: God Almighty appeared to me in Luza, in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
And he said unto me, Behold, I will spread thee up, and multiply thee, and will make of thee a multitude of nations; and I will give this land to thy seed after thee, into everlasting dominion.
And now your two sons, born to you in the land of Egypt, before I come to you in Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, as Reuben and Simeon, will be mine;
th Your children, who are born of you after them, will be yours; They will be named after their brothers in their lot.
th As I was coming from Mesopotamia, Rachel died in the land of Canaan, on the road, not reaching several to Ephrathah, and I buried her there on the road to Ephrath, which is now Bethlehem.

And Israel saw the sons of Joseph, and said: Who is this?
And Joseph said to his father, These are my sons, whom God has given me here. And Jacob said, Bring them to me, and I will bless them.
The eyes of Israel were blunted with old age; He could not see [clearly. Joseph] brought them to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.
eleven And Israel said to Joseph, "I did not expect to see your face; But behold, God showed me and your children.
And Joseph took them from his tribes, and worshiped him with his face to the earth.
And Joseph took both Ephraim in his right hand against the left of Israel, and Manasseh in the left against the right of Israel, and brought him to him.
But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim's head, though this one was smaller, and the left one on Manasseh's head. With intent he put his hands like that, although Manasseh was the first-born.
And he blessed Joseph and said: "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, God who has been feeding me since I have been alive, to this day,
The angel who rescues me from all evil, bless these young men; Let my name and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac be called upon them, and may they grow into many in the midst of the earth.
th And Joseph saw that his father had put his right hand on Ephraim's head; And it was deplorable for him. And he took his father's hand to put it from the head of Ephraim to the head of Manasseh,
And Joseph said to his father, It is not so, my father, for this is the first-born; Put your right hand on his head.
But his father disagreed and said: I know, my son, I know; And a people shall come forth from him, and he shall be great; But the smaller his brother will be greater than him, and from his seed a numerous people will occur.
And he blessed them that day, saying, Israel will bless you, saying, "God, He will do to you, as Ephraim and Manasseh." And he set Ephraim above Manasseh.
And Israel said to Joseph: Behold, I am dying; And God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers;
I give you, especially before your brothers, one portion, which I took from the hands of the Amorites with my sword and with my bow.
