Jeremiah 30

1 The word that was to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2 Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: write yourself all the words that I spoke to you in a book.
3 For behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will return from captivity My people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord; and I will bring them again to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they will possess it.
4 And these are the words that the Lord said about Israel and Judah.
5 Thus said the Lord: we hear the voice of confusion and horror, and not the world.
6 Ask and judge: does a man give birth? Why, then, do I see every man’s hands on his loins, like a woman’s childbirth, and all have pale faces?
7 Oh woe! great that day, there was none like him; it is a disastrous time for Jacob, but he will be saved from him.
eight And it will be that day, says the LORD of hosts: I will break his yoke that is on yours, and I will break your bonds; and will no longer serve foreigners,
nine but they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will restore to them.

ten And you, My servant Jacob, do not be afraid, says the Lord, and not be afraid, Israel; for behold, I will save you from a distant land, and your people from the land of their captivity; and Jacob will return and live calmly and peacefully, and no one will frighten him,
eleven for I am with you, says the Lord, to save you: I will completely destroy all the nations among whom I scattered you, but I will not destroy you; I will punish you to the least, but I will not leave you unpunished.
12 For thus saith the Lord: thy wound is incurable, your ulcer is cruel;
13 no one cares about your work to heal your wound; healing medicine is not for you;
fourteen all your friends have forgotten you, they are not looking for you; for I struck you with blows of the enemy, cruel punishment for your many iniquities, because your sins have multiplied.
fifteen Why do you cry for your wounds, for the cruelty of your illness? because of your many iniquities, I have done this to you, because your sins have multiplied.
16 But all who devour you will be devoured; and all your enemies, everyone will be captured, and your devastators will be devastated, and I will commit all your robbers to plunder.
17 I will cover you with a band-aid and heal you from your wounds, says the Lord. You were called an outcast, saying: “here is Zion, which no one asks”;

18 thus saith the Lord: behold, I will bring back the captivity of the tents of Jacob and his mercy; and the city will again be built on its hill, and the temple will be built as before.
19 And thanksgiving and the voice of the merry ones will ascend from them; and I will multiply them, and they will not diminish, and I will glorify them, and they will not be humiliated.
20 And his sons will be, as before, and his host will stand before me, and I will punish all his oppressors.
21 And his leader shall be of himself, and his lord shall come out of his midst; and I will bring him closer, and he will come to Me; for who will dare to approach me by himself? says the Lord.
22 And you will be My people, and I will be God to you.
23 Behold, a fierce whirlwind comes from the Lord, a terrible whirlwind; he will fall upon the head of the wicked.
24 The fiery anger of the Lord will not be averted until He fulfills and fulfills the purposes of His heart. In the last days you will understand this.
