Previous chapter Index Next chapter
On the eighth day Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel
and he said to Aaron, Take a calf out of the oxen for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present yourself before the Lord;
and say to the sons of Israel: Take a goat as a sacrifice for sin, and a calf, and a lamb, one year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering,
and an ox and a ram for a peace sacrifice, in order to make a sacrifice before the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil, for today the Lord will appear to you.
And they brought what Moses commanded, before the tent of meeting, and all the congregation came and stood before the Lord.
And Moses said: This is what the Lord commanded to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.
And Moses said to Aaron: go to the altar and make your sacrifice of sin and your burnt offering, and cleanse yourself and your people, and make an offering from the people, and cleanse them, as the Lord commanded.

And Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the bullock, which was for him, as a sacrifice for sin:
the sons of Aaron offered him blood, and he dipped his finger in blood and laid it on the horns of the altar, and poured [the rest] of the blood at the foot of the altar,
and the fat and kidneys and oil seal on the liver from the sin offering burnt on the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses;
eleven meat and skin were burned on fire outside the camp.
And he burnt the burnt offering, and the sons of Aaron offered him blood; he sprinkled it on the altar from all sides;
thirteen and they brought him a burnt offering in pieces and a head, and he burned on the altar,
and the entrails and feet were washed and burned with a burnt offering on the altar.
fifteen And he brought an offering from the people, and took the goat for the sin from the people, and stabbed him, and offered him a sacrifice for the sin, like the former.
And he brought a burnt offering and performed it according to the statute.
And he brought an offering of bread, and filled his hands with them, and burned it on the altar beyond the morning burnt offering.
And he slaughtered the ox and the ram, which are from the people, as a peace offering; and the sons of Aaron offered him blood, and he sprinkled it on the altar from all sides;
[brought] and fat from the ox, and from the ram a fatten, and [fat] covering [the innards], kidneys and omentum on the liver,
and they put the fat on the chest, and he burned the fat on the altar;
Aaron brought his chest and right shoulder, shaking before the Lord, as Moses commanded.
And Aaron lifted up his hands, [turning] to the people, and blessed him, and came down, making a sacrifice for sin, a burnt offering, and a peace sacrifice.

And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and went out and blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people:
and fire came out from the Lord and burned a burnt offering and fat on the altar; and he saw all the people, and cried out with joy, and fell on his face.
