Luke 14

It happened to Him on Saturday to come to the house of one of the chiefs of the Pharisees to eat bread, and they watched Him.
And behold, a man appeared before him, who was afflicted with a watery disease.
In this occasion Jesus asked the lawyers and the Pharisees: is it permissible to heal on the Sabbath?
They were silent. And when he touched, he healed him and let him go.
And he said unto them, If any of you have an ass or a ox fall into a well, will it not immediately pull him out on the sabbath?
th And they could not answer Him for this.

th Noticing, however, how the invited chose the first places, he told them a parable:
When you are invited by someone to marry, do not sit down in the first place, so that not one of those who are called is more honorable than you,
And he who called you and him, coming up, would not have told you: give him a place; And then with shame you will have to take the last place.
But when you are called, when you come, sit down in the last place, to call you, coming up, said: friend! Transcend higher; Then it shall be well with you before those who sit with you,
eleven For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
And he said to him that called to him, "When you make dinner or dinner, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your relatives, nor the neighbors of the rich, so that they will not call you, and you did not receive a reward.
But, when you are making a feast, call the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,
And you will be blessed that they can not repay you, for it will be rewarded to you on the resurrection of the righteous.

Hearing this, one of those reclining with Him said to Him, Blessed is he who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God!
He told him: one man made a great dinner and called many,
th And when it was time for supper, he sent his slave to say to those who were invited: go, for everything is ready.
And they all began to apologize, as if by agreement. The first said to him: I bought the land and I need to go see it; I beg you, excuse me.
Another said: I bought five pairs of oxen and go to test them; I beg you, excuse me.
The third said: I married and therefore can not come.
And when he returned, the servant informed his lord of this. Then, being angry, the owner of the house said to his slave: go quickly through the streets and lanes of the city and bring here the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind.
And the servant said: Lord! As you have commanded, and there is still room.
The master said to the slave: go along the roads and hedges and be sure to come, so that my house will be filled.
For I tell you that none of those who are invited will taste my supper, for many are called, but few are chosen.

With him was a multitude of people; And he turned and said to them:
th If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, and brothers and sisters, and besides his very life, he can not be my disciple;
th And whoever does not bear his cross and follows me can not be my disciple.
For who among you, wanting to build a tower, does not sit down before and calculate the costs, does he have what it takes to accomplish it,
So that when he puts the foundation and can not do it, all the seers do not laugh at him,
thirty Saying: this man began to build and could not finish?
Or what king, going to war against another king, will not sit down and advise before, is he able with ten thousand to resist the one going to him with twenty thousand?
Otherwise, while he is still far away, he will send an embassy to him to ask for peace.
So every one of you who does not give up everything he has can not be my disciple.
Salt is a good thing; But if the salt loses its strength, then how can it be corrected?
Neither in the land nor in the dung is not suitable; They throw it away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
